Trivia Night: Trivia Night was discussed. The date has been set for Saturday October 12. The doors will open at 6:30pm. The event will start at 7pm and run until 9pm. Teams will need to be pre-registered. This will help us with table count and set-up. Team members need to be 16 years or older. We may ask a Girl Scout Troop to help serve food. Food was discussed. Baked goods and
Prepackaged good are both possibilities.
Prizes were discussed. One idea was a book lamp made from old books. Another idea was a trophy made from old books. The trophy would be a traveling trophy. If the event was held next year the trophy would be passed to the next winning team. Next we discussed having an MC and reader of the questions. Bob Stinman was one individual as a possibility. Wendy Swank was another possibility. We will be in touch with Bob.
We talked about what the money made from Trivia Night would/could be used for. Nancy D. shared information about special children’s computers. They have many features. One feature was the vowel keys would be in marked in the same color.
There was some talk about questions to be used for Trivia Night. Nancy shared one idea/resource. She thought we could ask local librarian Pat Tucker. The planning committee for Trivia Night will meet again in two weeks on August 28th at 1pm.
Old Business:
Storage Shed-Nancy D. reported on the plaque for the shed. There was a mistake that wasn’t our fault. A new plaque is being made on weatherproof material. Nancy will pick it up.
Old Business Continued
Painting of the Meeting Room-The ceiling has been repaired and painted.
New Business:
Book sale-We decided our next book sale would be Friday Sept 20th. Members that are available to work so far are Nancy D., Cynthia C., and Marilyn M. The work shifts would be 2 hours approximately. The Fall City wide yard sales will be going on 8am-5pm. We plan on being on the map. Nancy D. reminded everyone of the Pinterest party Thursday August 15th at 6pm.
Next Meeting will be held Wednesday Sept 11th at 1pm.
