ATTENDANCE:
Judy Kammerer, Cynthia Colvin, Kathryn Johnson and Marilyn Miller
CALL TO ORDER and WELCOME MINUTES:
September 12, 2019 minutes were approved as read first by Cynthia, 2nd by Judy.
TREASURER'S REPORT:
$4,634.38 was reported as current balance (which included the proceeds from the book sale of $114.25). Approved first by Marilyn and 2nd by Judy.
CORRESPONDENCE: None
LIBRARIAN'S REPORT: Story times: Pigeon will be featured story. Sarah Clark will continue to do Tuesday story times.
Kathryn reports there will be a new Facebook Page-----Hamilton IL Public Library.
'Toy Story 4' will be shown at 1 P.M. for the Movie Matinee on October 25th. There is no school that day. Children aged five and under must be accompanied by a parent or responsible teenager. Costumes are encouraged. Snacks will be available.
John Vance, retired chiropractor and children's book author, will read his latest book on Saturday, October 26th at 11 A.M. at the Library.
Kathryn reported that she is implementing an improved system for keeping track of money coming into the Library.
She would like to promote a community event for the creation of a Hamilton Public Library logo to be used on Facebook, the website, letterhead, and bookmarks.
Hamilton Elementary School will have their Fall Festival November 8th from 5 to 8 P.M.
November 21st from 6 to 7 P.M. there will be a Family Reading Night at the Library. Cookies will be needed for refreshments.
OLD BUSINESS:
Proceeds from the book sale were $114.25.
Puzzle Party is planned for the 24th of October from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
Marilyn attended the Board meeting Monday, October 21st at 6:30 P.M. to report that new flooring would be put down on the 22nd of November beginning at 8 A.M. by Heartland Carpets. Help will be required to move furniture and miscellaneous items from the meeting room and adjoining storage room prior to this.
Cynthia offered to investigate brands of vacuums to be purchased by Friends for use in the Library.
Newcomer Baskets are a work in progress. Marilyn has offered to gather advertising items from various local merchants to be included in the baskets.
Work on The Hamilton Public Library Calendar proposed for 2021 will begin after the first of the
year.
