The meeting was called to order by Judy K. Minutes were reviews by everyone. The minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report: $2705.75
Correspondence: none
Children’s Computers: Nancy shared some additional information on new children’s computers. She had a break down on prices. Having a touch screen monitor would be expensive. We can choose our monitor size. Discounts are available. There was some discussion on new computers. No decisions were made. We agreed to continue to research.
Librarian’s Report: Nancy shared the large print books have been moved downstairs. Several patrons have given positive feedback on the new book location. The scrapbooking program went well. A Card stitching program is set for November 14 at 6:00pm. The needleworkers group will meet November 18th ad 12:30pm. Family Read Night at the library is set for November 21st from 6-7pm/
There will be a Black Friday Fun program on Friday, November 29th from 11am-4pm. The following information is from a flyer sent to the schools: Kids of all ages are welcome. If a child is under the age of 6 years, they will need to be accompanied by an adult. The library will have a healthy lunch for the children, and cookies and hot chocolate for the tree lighting ceremony, where they will turn on all the Christmas lights and sing Christmas carols. Some of the activities include a Secret Santa, where the children can purchase presents for the adults in their lives. The presents are all under $1.00 and will be gift wrapped before leaving. Children must be registered due to the nature of the program. RSVP by Nov 22 at 5pm to participate. Nancy shared that she will need cookies for this event. Members will make some cookies.
Other dates include a Merchant’s Open House that is et for Thursday, December 12th. 4-8pm. Nancy shared that cookies will be needed for this event as well. Members will plan on making some cookies. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served to everyone attending the event at the library. Other upcoming events include: Father/Son cake decorating event, Mother/Daughter Girls Tea and a Science Fair. Fundraising ideas were shared by everyone. Nothing was decided upon. The next meeting will be December 11 at 1:00pm.
