Trustee Meeting
June 18, 2013
The Board of Trustees of the Hamilton Public Library met at 6:30 p.m. on June 18, 2013 at the library. Members present were: John Kolditz, Bob Schneider, Nancy Denton, Jim Noble, Sharon Anderson and Carole Buerklin Guests: Wanda Hansen, John Phillips
John Kolditz, Vice-President opened the meeting at 6:42 p.m.
Introduction of Guests: Wanda Hansen and John Phillips
MINUTES
Sharon Anderson moved and Bob Schneider seconded that the minutes be approved.
Motion carried.
BILLS
Bob Schneider moved and Jim Noble seconded that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
REPORTS
Friends of the Library-Oct. 12, 2013 there will be a Trivia Night. The Friends have agreed to fund some proposed programs.
Finance-CD #50987 will be rolled over for 6 mo. Sharon Anderson moved that $12,000 be moved from the Money Market account to the General Fund. Jim Noble seconded. Motion carried
Librarian’s Report-Nancy Denton contacted the City Council about a sidewalk hazard near the library. John Kolditz and Dan Reinhardt will attend the Council Committee meeting at 6:00 p.m. on June 24th. This will be followed by a formal letter to the Council and carbon copy to Bill Bierbaum and the Mayor.
Per Capita Grant of $3,032.60 has been paid.
Memorials-the Martha Stewart Memorial-$850.00, First State Bank-$50 and Marine Bank-$50
A bid for tables and chairs has been received from Ridders and a bid from Quill.com. The decision was tabled.
It is proposed that a puppeteer be hired for $200 for the Summer Reading Program Entertainment.
The fax machine is working better.
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
The flowers and foliage around the library are doing well. It is yet to be determined where the donated fir tree is to be planted.
OLD BUSINESS
The repair of the hole in the meeting room ceiling is on hold.
NEW BUSINESS
The board went into Executive Session at 7:46 p.m. to consider the election of a new board member. The session ended at 7:50 p..m. Jim Noble moved that Wanda Hansen be elected to the board. Bob Schneider seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Sharon Anderson moved that the meeting adjourned.
