Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Hamilton Public Library met on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm. President Cynthia Colvin called the meeting to order. Present were Marilyn Miller, Nancy Denton, Juanita Noble, Cynthia Colvin, and Judy Kammerer.
The minutes of the October meeting were approved as read. Motion by Juanita, seconded by Marilyn.
Juanita reported that there was a balance of $2,833.65 in the treasury, She added that the designated agent for our not-for-profit status, needs to be changed. Pat Loter has been the agent for many years, however, her health as kept her from participation in Friends. Members agreed to name Juanita as the designated agent.
Correspondence received was in regard to fundraising ideas, one of which is under consideration.
Librarian's Report
Nancy reported that the Lego Challenge on October 13th was a huge success, with 12-13 kids per session. She hopes to make it an annual event.
Only 3 children and 1 adult attended the Movie & Craft Night program on October 23rd.
10 people were in attendance at the Veteran's Day program on November 11th. $167.00 was raised in the collection jar for the Wounded Warriors Project.
6 women attended the Needlecrafters group on November 10th. The group meets each Monday.
Bonnie's cooking class will be on Thursday, November 20th from 5:30pl to 7:00 pm
Old Business
The Book Sale will be on Saturday, November 15th from 9:00am to 1:00 pm in the meeting room. Marilyn and Judy will conduct the sale.
Nancy said she hopes to have the computers purchased by December 1st. There will be 1 for the Children's section and 1 for the office.
New Business
Nancy stated that the Merchant's Holiday Open House will be on Tuesday, December 2nd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Santa will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be a craft for the kids. Cookies from Friends are needed.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:30 pm.
