Trustee Meeting
Nov. 20, 2012
The Board of Trustees of the Hamilton Public Library met at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2012 at the library. Members present were: John Kolditz, Jim Noble, Dan Reinhardt, Nancy Denton, Sharon Esterday, Bob Schneider, Carole Buerklin. Guest: Judy Kammerer
The meeting was called to order by President, Dan Reinhardt
MINUTES
Jim Noble moved and Bob Schneider seconded that the minutes by approved. Motion carried.
BILLS
John Kolditz moved and Sharon Esterday seconded that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
REPORTS
Friends of the Library-Judy Kammerer reported that a Spring fundraiser is being considered. Dec. 1st from 10-3 the Hamilton Library with the Coalition in charge will participate in the Vendor Blender at the VFW. The Hamilton Library has library bags and deleted books for sale.
Finance-CD 50987 in the amount of $40,090.25 will be rolled over into a 6 mo CD. $10,000 will be moved from the Money Market account to the General Fund. Sharon Esterday moved and Jim Noble seconded. Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report-On Nov. 23rd the library will have a Black Friday event including games, food and the lighting of the Christmas lights.
Dec.1st the library will be participating in the Vendor Blender event at the VFW. A list of library activies will be available as well as bags and books for sale.
Dec.6th-Open House starting at 5:15 p.m. Santa will be present to give out candy canes.
eBooks-There have been 100 checkouts, 28 registered readers. The program can be renewed for $275 and a $25 fee. Consider a program to showcase this service. Carole Buerklin moved and Jim Noble seconded that the eBooks membership be renewed. The motion carried with one abstention.
Paychecks will be signed Dec. 14, 2012.
There is no meeting in December.
The Board went into Executive Session at 7:05 p.m. to consider Christmas bonuses for the Library Staff. It was decided to give Nancy Denton $200, Mary Patterson $100 and Bonnie Wells $75. $15 will be given to Jan Seyfert. John Kolditz moved and Dan Reinhardt seconded. Motion carried. Executive Session ended at 7:17 p.m.
The Library will be closed on Dec. 24th with no pay and Dec. 25th with pay. Monday, Dec. 31st the library will close at 5:00 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. Jan.1st the library will be closed with pay.
The 2012 Grant-For 34.19 Quick Safe Keyboard Locks are available. Will be considered for purchase.
Demco has conference tables wilth bases and ten chairs for $1,049. Heartland has carpet fror $846.16. Removal of old carpet would be $225. Consider Memorial Money for the table and chairs and carpet expense from Maintence/ Building.
Dec. 3rd there wil be a TIF district meeting at Hamilton City Hall. Nancy Denton and Dan Reinhardt will attend.
Replacement cost insurance for the Utility Building will be purchased through the city.
Nancy Denton was authorized in the Oct. meeting to set up a checking account for Per Capita Grant funds. Cicily Knowles, Nancy Denton, Dan Reinhardt and John Kolditz are authorized to sign. $100 will be left in the account to keep it open. Sharon Esterday moved and John Kolditz seconded. Motion carried.
Available from the SALTgroup-DVD of the Driver’s Manual for people who can not read to study for a driver’s license- $75 for the DVD and $65 for a cassette.
