Job Title: Youth Programming Librarian
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for planning and overseeing programming for children, teens, and families within the Library and the community. In addition, performs responsibilities at the service desk and assists patrons of all ages in the use of the Library, its materials, services, and electronic resources.
The Hamilton Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organized individual who enjoys working with the public, and planning events. This individual will be trained to perform regular library tasks along with planning, publicizing and implementing a wide range of programs for children, teens and adults throughout the year. Must be able to work independently, deal with multiple on-going projects, and prioritize tasks. Computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office & Google programs is required along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with children, programming and planning events is required
This is a part-time position that pays Illinois minimum wage. The schedule is moderately flexible and consists mostly of after school and evening hours, with some occasional morning hours, and at least two Saturdays a month.
