Hamilton Public Library- Trustee Meeting Minutes- July 18, 2011
Present were Cicily Knowles, Sharon Esterday, Nancy Denton, Dan Reinhardt, Sherry Ruark, John Kolditz, Carole Buerklin President Reinhardt called the meeting to order.
MINUTES
Sharon Esterday moved and Sherry Ruark seconded that the minutes be accepted. Motion carried.
BILLS
Sharon Esterday moved and Sherry Ruark seconded that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
REPORTS
Friends of the Library
--The Garden Tour raised over $300 despite the rainy weather
--The summer get together will be a potluck Thursday, August 25th at the Gibsons. Meat will be provided. RSVP by Aug. 22nd.
Finance
--No changes
Librarian’s Report
--End of the Summer Reading Program party went well. Seventeen kids attended despite the weather.
--Painting for the library trim will begin July 19th.
--Suggestions from Project Compass-to help people with computers, especially the unemployed it was suggested the library open an hour early or stay open an hour later one day a week. Data could be stored on flash drives. Another suggestion was to compile folder of state agencies, community resources, food bank locations and other resources to be distributed.
PUBLIC RELATIONS -No report
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
--Ferrell Tree Service will remove two trees toward the alley and a magnolia bush.
OLD BUSINESS
--Air Conditioner update-the existing air conditioners have been serviced and the new ones are on order.
--Past board member, Judy Kammerer will be contacted about the plaque listing past board members.
--Rural Area Illinois Library System (RAILS) will require a patron base list to authenticate actual patrons to receive eBooks. Subscription is $250 a year which will be prorated this year. If more people join the rate could be lowered.
--Illinois Public Library (IPLAR)-Fiscal accumulations report will be filed soon.
