Trustee Meeting
October 16, 2012
The Board of Trustees of the Hamilton Public Library met at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2012 at the library. Members present were: John Kolditz, Cicily Knowles, Sharon Esterday, Bob Schneider, Jim Noble, Nancy Denton, Dan Reinhardt, Cevin Cox, Carole Buerklin
The meeting was opened by Dan Reinhardt, president.
MINUTES
The minutes were approved with the amendment that the Hamilton City Council has city insurance for the library staff if interested. The premium was over $700. John Kolditz moved that the minutes be approved as amended and Sharon Esterday seconded. Motion carried.
BILLS
John Kolditz moved and Sharon Esterday seconded that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
REPORTS
Friends of the Library-No fund raiser is being planned at this time. Ninety-six dollars was raised at the book sale.
Finance- CD 51338 matured and the $20,000 was rolled over into a six month CD. $10,000 was transferred from the Money Market account to the General Account. Cicily Knowles moved and Sharon Esterday seconded. Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report-A Frontier Customer Education Seminar is available October 17th.
-A Kindle or Nook purchase was discussed. An iPad with a 7” screen is $250 and a Kindle HD is available.
-The eBooks rate is going up in 2014.
-The Dell Computer service contract was not renewed and has expired.
-A First Aid class will be held on Oct. 19 through The American Heart Association for not more than ten people.
-A possible library grant from Wal-Mart did not go through. The Per Capita grant application for 2013 asks how the 2012 money was spent. Nov. 9th is the date that obligation needs to be filled. The board authorized Nancy Denton to set up a checking account for the Per Capita Grant.
-A quote was received for 2 laptops $1,742 and 2 at $1949, and 2 Dell Professional Office Suite software for $1,700. A printer could be afforded also.
Jim Noble moved that the recommended Dell Package be purchased. John Kolditz seconded. A book order is being compiled. Motion carried.
PUBLIC RELATIONS

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
A bush has been planted and the tree will be planted in the Spring. UE has marked the ground. John Kolditz contacted the City and no gravel has been delivered. The rock will be approximately $500.
